Jim Smith, your step-on-tour-guide was born and raised in Jamesport, Missouri and attended school with THE AMISH for 8 years before AMISH schools were built. He also owned and operated JJ'S Restaurant in Jamesport for 16 years. In 1985 Jim gave his first tour of the AMISH community of Jamesport so he KNOWS the FACTS from the FICTION and the history of the Old Order Amish in this area.
On your tour, Jim shares with you his knowledge of growing up with and his daily life among the largest OLD ORDER AMISH SETTLEMENT west or the Mississippi River. Jim's tour offers first hand information and humor not found in books or from others who aren't experienced and have not been blessed with having years of being a part of this unique little community and all it offers. Many Amish people are our FRIENDS and are happy to accommodate us with their country hospitality.
