Your tour guide Jim Smith was born right here in Jamesport. MO before the Amish settled this area. He attended school with the AMISH for 8 years before the Colony had grown enough to build their own schools. He grew up with the Amish children. Also Jim owned and operated JJ'S Restaurant in Jamesport for 16 years serving bus groups.
In 1985 Jim gave his first tour of the Jamesport AMISH Colony so he KNOWS the FACTS from the FICTION! He knows the history of the Old Order Amish People of Jamesport like nobody else because he has lived it!
Jim has been featured in many periodicals including "The St. Louis Dispatch Newspaper" and "Missouri Life Magazine" who referred to Jim as "an Amish insider". Jim has also assisted book authors in the writing of Amish novels.
